This year, the Design Department of the Hochschule Du\u0308sseldorf University of Applied Science will again be represented at the Euroshop trade fair. From 26 February to March 2, 2023, the students will present the “fortytwo” stand they developed and the accompanying “The Retail Ball Game”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The Retail Ball Game” enables you to experience a new kind of trade fair stand. Students of the Design Department of the Hochschule Du\u0308sseldorf University of Applied Sciences have developed a game that combines conference and game modes. The visitors themselves can participate and actively change the game area. This creates innovative and playful communication and a networking space.The retail industry is facing significant challenges; ecological, economic, social, and technological conditions are changing.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t\t\t

The goal that the HSD students have set themselves is no less than to find and answer the ultimate question about the future of retail. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t\t\t

Among other things, 42 balls come into play, inspired by the work “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” by British author Douglas Adams, in which “42” is the answer calculated by a supercomputer to the ” ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything”. But can fiction, a surreal story, be a starting point for new discourses?<\/p>\n
