The Fang Eyewear Showroom by architecture firm M-D Design Studio, a project which reimagines the traditional showroom in the town of Mayu, a hub of the eyewear industry in China. The new space presents a bold, sculptural landmark presence while exploring how a commercial space can transform and redefine its role. Its geometric form is inspired by traditional Indian symbolism where triangles represent the future and the essence of creativity and spirituality.<\/p>\n

The interior embraces a spatially fluid concept, defined by an envelope which seamlessly continues the folded surfaces of the exterior. Soft lighting fixtures, concealed in geometric gaps within the walls and ceiling, accentuate shafts of natural light which enter through large triangular windows, integrated within the angular pattern of the walls. Overall, the flow of light guides visitors through the project\u2019s interconnected spaces, which includes the showroom, reception, a caf\u00e9, and an art bookstore, embodying the concept of a \u201cMuseum of Light\u201d. More than a venue for sales or display, the space becomes a recognizable symbol of the city itself.<\/p>\n
