Aigner has reopened its flagship store on Theatinerstraße in Munich following an extensive renovation. With the redesign, the luxury leather goods brand is introducing its new retail concept in Europe for the first time, after it had already been implemented at locations across the Middle East and Asia.
The store on Theatinerstraße is located in the historic Lesmüllerhaus, a building whose history dates back to 1818. Since opening there in October 1994, Aigner has established itself as a key destination for luxury leather goods. The modernization carefully brings the location into the future while preserving its heritage, creating a space that reflects the brand’s DNA and meets the expectations of a contemporary shopping experience.
Spanning two floors, the Munich flagship now offers an impressive 320 square meters of retail space. The redesigned interior features a bright and open atmosphere. Various shades of gray and natural tones, stone- and concrete-look surfaces, champagne-gold accents, and walnut-veneered elements give the space a timeless elegance.
According to Aigner, the new interior design follows a clear vision: to give the products more room to shine while creating an environment that feels contemporary, welcoming, and inspiring. Customers are at the heart of the concept. A social bar area, discreet fitting rooms, and rose-colored sofas contribute to the store’s distinctive character.
A particular highlight of the interior is the lighting created by Spanish designer Arturo Alvarez. With their organic, handcrafted silhouettes and soft interplay of light, the fixtures bring warmth and vitality to the space, creating an environment that goes far beyond the traditional function of a boutique.
“With the new store concept, we want to offer our customers an environment that presents our brand in a contemporary way while preserving our core values,” says CEO Sibylle Schön.
“The fact that the European premiere of this concept is taking place in Munich is especially meaningful to us. This is where our roots are, and where an important part of our story began,” Schön continues.
The reopening of the flagship store marks an important step in the international development of the luxury brand. With the first European location showcasing the new concept, Aigner is making a statement about the future of brick-and-mortar retail and a form of luxury that is defined not only by products, but above all by atmosphere, service, and personal interaction.
