From September 25 to October 4, 2026, Vienna transforms into a “City full of Design” for the 20th time. With this edition, the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK celebrates its 20th anniversary. Around 200 events at approximately 50 locations across the city showcase everything contemporary design has to offer: from exhibitions and installations to talks, tours, and workshops, most of them free of charge.
Audience favorites such as Passionswege, where designers collaborate with traditional craft businesses, and the Stadtarbeit format, which brings interventions into public space to reshape the cityscape, are once again part of the anniversary edition. New this year is a Europe-wide Anniversary Tour, through which the festival team is celebrating its 20-year milestone on an international scale as well. As Austria’s most important, multidisciplinary design festival, the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK continually raises the question of what role design plays in urban life and beyond.
