Stationary retailers are seeing their business models dwindle in many places. Buyer behavior is changing and shifting more and more to the web for many categories. On the other hand, online retailers are becoming increasingly visible in the local area. However, online pure players are often not “capable” of stationary retail. This is an opportunity for established brick-and-mortar retailers to offer their expertise. But the business of retail-as-a-service is once again being done by start-ups.
