 Venue Vitra Campus / Buckminster Fuller Dome

The Vitra Campus combines production buildings, museums, architectural inspiration in a unique ensemble of contemporary architecture. We were able to secure the impressive Buckminster Fuller Dome as the venue for this year’s symposium. The dome-shaped tent structure, built in 1975, was installed in 2000. It is based on the construction principle of the so called “geodesic domes” patented by Richard Buckminster Fuller in 1954, which allow a remarkable stability and span with a minimum use of resources.
